Spring, no gulls. Braddock Bay hawkwatch

Northern Goshawk. This came very late in the day away from the Braddock Bay hawkwatch. I was on my way home, but kept seeing vultures pass overhead forcing me to stop and scan, panicking at the thought of catching up on real-life stuff away from birds. I was squinting at this bird at the same time the rest of the group was down the road, without my knowledge. It was very distant and I was trying to turn it into a goshawk waiting for it to get closer. I received a call from Luke Tiller asking where I was. He said they were on a goshawk, and I told him I was probably looking at the same bird on the same road as them. I drove around the bend and saw the group where the bird eventually flew right over us--although at a migration-type elevation not wanting to mug for the camera.

Who doesn't like a Shrike?

How many under/over-exposed, various angels, mediocre, different, yet same photos of a Northern Shrike can you tolerate? I was lucky enough to have one winter at my 'patch' (yack, birdspeak) and do not take it for granted. These span randomly from December to February.
